Kinda like Albert Brooks with way less funny and way further up its own ass. Koteas is a fine actor (you might say I'm something of a Kotepletionist) but is not overly appealing in the role(s). Maybe it's the necklace. Look at that thing. And then the fedora, and then the bandana, so as to distinguish the various Kotes on screen at the same time. Amazingly, Jane Seymour, Virginia Madsen, and Jennifer Jason Leigh are around to interact with one or more throughout, and help the medicine go down.

I usually like oddball comedies, but this was borderline painful. Almost nothing works and almost nothing was funny enough to laugh about. I liked the actors, but the script is impossible to enjoy. It is campy, stupid, schizophrenic, sometimes smug and not the least bit entertaining. Abysmal writing and absurd stupid plot. I really wanted to watch to the credits, but at about 3/4, I just couldn't take another minute. Howard Goldberg is a horrible writer and a worse director. BAD, BOOOO!!
