Casteism has been perpetuated in Hindu society since its inception. Historically, Hindu society was dividied into four groups - each determined by caste. At the bottom of the hierarchy, was always Dalits (Untouchables). Even in independent India, there used to be practice which didn't allow a Dalit to drink water from an well used by upper caste members. Despite of the revolution led by Dr. Ambedkar, casteism is still an undercurrent of Hindutva ideology. This film is a grim reminder of that.
