I just finished a Rebel Wilson picture and didn’t hate it. I must’ve hit my head and woken up as an easy to please asshole.

i laughed, highlights being the inability to curse in romcomland and the painful fast cut away from sex, despite Wilson's best efforts. I had fun with the premise, enjoyed the jokes and gags, and felt super weird seyeing Adam Devine act sweet, but he pulls it off. I might never watch it again, but for this once through it hit the spot

Hilarious on paper, but not so much acted out. Lampshading the romcom tropes don't make the romcom tropes of this movie any less tropy.

There's a Groundhog Day-esque satisfaction to watching a character that can see through all of the predictable bullshit in their new reality. This should be a modern classic in the romantic comedy genre; because it really is a subgenre that is shamefully overcrowded with tripe.

Rebel Wilson showed more depth than I had seen her in other roles (Night at the Museum, Pitch Perfect, Bridesmaids). There were enough laughs in the plot throughout; funny references to romantic comedy tropes. I just love Adam DeVine's infectious positivity. Fav scene: "this is setting gay rights back 100 years"

Passable rom-com because of the idea of knowing that you're in a rom-com, with all the annoying tropes and cliches. Rebel Wilson does a fine job as a leading lady here and is quite cute and charming. Adam Divine is less over the top than his usual self (which is always at 100mph....take a breath bro) I'm not into dominatrixes at all, but Rebel's assistant (Betty Gilpin) in the alternate universe as a stoic, bitchy, powerful working woman. Mmmmm....you can whip me anytime, girl!

a fascinating look into the psyche of its lead actress. Wilson is attractive and would be more than capable of carrying a more heartfelt rom-com; that this is so drenched in irony is because the producers — and Rebel herself — believe her incapable of evoking genuine pathos. some of the gags are actually quite clever but they're undermined by the inherent sadness within the film and its concept. I'm single, Rebel. call me, darling.

One of Wilson's most likable performances (and vehicles) to date coasts largely on the combined good will of its cast, who all handle the light comedy well; it's a shame that the premise is not as well developed as it could be, and the Wilson-Gilpin catty rivalry is dumped before it begins, but this is still a lot of fun - until the protracted finale where we settle in for a *second* huge production number. Still much better than it had any right to be.

I doubt even the audience for this will find the first half funny (unless fat women falling is your thing). But with the help of some energizing 80s songs, bits of self aware parody that actually work, the last 30 minutes are fun enough to make fans forgive how predictable it all is. (This deconstruction might've felt fresh in the 90s.) Ironically, things also get much more fun whenever the allegedly "offensive" gay stereotype is onscreen. He also provides the film's only moving moment.

The comedy relies too heavily on rom com tropes. Despite the premise of ridiculing romantic comedies, this is in fact a by-the-book romantic comedy. There's also too much slapstick. Ok Rebel, we get it, but fat people falling just doesn't carry a movie.

Okay-ish romantic comedy spoof with Rebel Wilson being the main reason to check it out.

I thought it was a lot of fun. I think it does a good job parodying the romantic comedy genre, and the sarcastic comedy of Rebel Wilson's character works really well with this idea.

Isn't It Romantic; a film that hates and subverts RomComs but still ends up being one, mostly. The film treads a fine line between self-awareness and indulgence regarding its checklist of RomCom clichés, though the disingenuous tone is the antithesis of why they work. Using outdated chauvinistic stereotypes to achieve female self-empowerment in the climax just seemed silly. Wilson isn't too bad in this, but ultimately the film demeans itself to several mediocre song-and-dance numbers.

i like rebel wilson but i totally didn't buy the "bashing the rom-coms" sales pitch. it's still a comedy, and relies on "funny because she's fat" jokes. i think rebel's talent is being wasted on these movies. and by the way, stop trying to make adam devine a thing. fetch has a better chance of being a thing than adam devine.

By nearly single-handedly carrying this dreck-fest (with some help from the somewhat unexpectedly charming Adam Devine), Rebel Wilson proves her star quality. This would have been totally unwatchable without her.

Wife hated it. I thought it had some decent themes, and some nice photography, but acting and storyline just didn’t feel deep/developed enough for it to be just a sketch parody idea. The directing and script were on the painful side.

A meta romantic comedy. Poking fun at the genre while still being part of it.

The gimmick isn't interesting enough to redeem a formulaic rom-com.

Featuring solid and enjoyable- if also familiar- performances by Wilson & Devine, as well as some really good work by Chopra & Hemsworth, it has consistent laughs, some clever moments, and running gags that somehow don't get old. On top of that, it's also anchored by a strong overall theme, and handles its premise really well. However, the third act is incredibly rushed, and the ending it's speeding towards is...underwhelming. Overall, it's still perfectly fun and enjoyable, and is worth a look.

I'm not sure why all the ROM Com bashing just to have the stupidest musical ending any film has ever had just after you have your films only moment of authenticity. Terrible decision. Bad acting across the board. Sorry to those involved.

The premise has been used a lot, but works, and the supporting cast is great. Unfortunately the lead is horrible. I do not find Wilson the least bit funny, which I assume somebody does. She singlehandedly brings this film from decent to crappy.
