When you focus a band documentary on a single tour, you risk neglecting the story of a band in favor of back stage antics and tour comradery. For a band with thirty years of previous history, there's a lot missing here and all the guys of Maiden are middle aged and age has mellowed them, that's a hard handicap to overcome. "Flight 666" tries it's best, it includes classics tracks, touches on history, and is centered on an interesting tour, for sure, but there's just too much missing.

FUCKEN MAIDEN. Points deducted because there was too much not-rock. How The Cure nailed that, but not Maiden is beyond me.

It's actually a really good music documentary, firstly because the style of the Irons in this one is so different than the other "follow the band to their concerts" documentaries, and it's really well filmed, with proper interviews and all. I thoroughly enjoyed it, I recommend.

Amazing behind-the-scenes look at one of my favourite bands. You really get a feel for each member's personality over the course of the film and lets you peek a glimpse at a life select few get to see.

If you're a Maiden fan like I am this is a must-see. But even if you're not, it remains a very interesting story, a well-directed insight into a phenomenon of a band. The music is of course great and the band members are likable as always but what makes this special is that it combines priceless backstage access, interviews and live clips - and all that at an interesting time in the band's career, put together masterfully in an exhilarating whole and sprinkled with a welcome multicultural scent.

Decent music documentary. A bit heavy on the tour footage, though it didn't bore me. The band members were interesting enough.

No great shakes as far as documentaries go, but it gets the job done, and the songs are the best.

I'm not a huge Iron Maiden fan, but the way people were raving about this, i thought I'd check it out. There's nothing bad about this, but no real good behind the scenes type stuff either that should make 40 some days on tour with a band extremely interesting subject matter.

It's a great documentary that not only tells the story about their 2008 world tour but gives you a look into the kind of adversity that Iron Maiden was met with in the past. You also get a great look into the personality of each band member and what they bring to the ground, beyond playing their instruments.

pretty much what i expected from maiden and sam dunn. a great watch for maiden fans. maiden don't have anything to prove to anyone anymore, but i'd still like it if they'd stop fucking around and did another album. (2010 edit: lol maybe they shouldn't have tried making another album after all)
