Unfortunately, sports movies have a habit of being predictable, and to no surprise...this is. It's still a okay movie, especially if you can get past a 5'9 Mark Wahlberg playing professional football in the 1970's...for the Eagles of all teams (for context, the real guy was 6'2) if you're a fan of sports, this will probably be entertaining enough for you, but if you know how professional sports work...this might bug you a bit. I guess you can tell what side I fall on.

I'm a sucker for movies like these so I generally rate them higher than most. The story itself is pretty remarkable as a small guy basically "walks on" to an NFL team after the Eagles hold open tryouts in what they expected to be fan service. Disney adds it's normal cheesy scenes, but whenever they came up I was into the movie enough where I didn't mind. It's simple, if you like uplifting sports movies you'll enjoy this. If you don't, you won't.

For a Disney movie starring Markie Mark it was not a complete failure. the story is interesting and fairly low key so the film was simple and the characters seemed real. It was odd to see a Mark Wahlberg film where swearing was not a part of it. Oh well still a decent film.

Disney's got this thing down to science at this point, and many of the strong points to 'Invincible' are true of their other "big" '06 sports flick, 'Glory Road': It's all in the music, baby. The acting is quite good, but there isn't much else to really set the movie apart from the rest of the over-crowded Inspiring Sports Story genre. It felt a bit short, but I guess that means it never overstayed its welcome. Good movie, just nothing new.

Invincible is not exceptionally unique for a sports movie, but its emotional execution is near-perfect.

This might be Mark Wahlberg's best work post-Boogie Nights. It's a pretty standard underdog sports story at work here which means it can only rise to the level of mediocre.

An entertaining underdog sports story. There's nothing really too unique about it and as usual with the "inspired by a true story" movies it is only loosely connected to the real story. If you're looking for an inspirational, family-friendly sports movie, you've found a good option it just may not leave a lasting impression.

I personally give it 3.5 out of 5 stars. Based on a true story, & really inspiring, but I could go without seeing it again for years. I'm not a football fan, but enjoyed this movie.

Invincible is a cutesy-poo inspirational sports drama about a Regular Joe managing to make an NFL team. You've seen this type of film before, and unless you're looking for a family friendly version of this story, you have little reason to watch this movie. There's not enough adversity, too much cliché, a terrible romance, and actors who are here either because of their looks or physique; their acting skills are unimportant because they're barely having to act. Invincible is not worth your time.

This is a straight forward by the books sports movie. There is nothing groundbreaking in this movie but it is entertaining. Mark Wahlberg does well in the lead role. Greg Kinnear and Elizabeth Banks are also good here. If you like typical sports movies you should check this one out.

Everything is been there done that, but the movie still manages to be somewhat charming in large part to Wahlberg and the lack of really good sports films.

A very conventional sport drama that is quite well made. The yellow color grading was a bit of an odd choice but whatever. Could have been a bit better with a little less drama towards the end.

Nice that it was based on a true story, but WAY TOO MANY slow motion shots, just like all football movies. Wahlberg was great, though.

There's a somewhat admirable attempt to infuse a city's unique character into this story that rescues the movie from its bog-standard Disneyfied pablum. Surprisingly reverent treatment of working class malaise, instead of the usual pandering. Still, everything about this movie is drawn with a paint roller. Ends up being an everyday "inspirational" sports movie but with some surprisingly thoughtful aesthetics.

It's typical Hollywood by-the-numbers filmmaking, but hits enough of the right notes at the right times to fulfill its role as a feel-good story of one average guy with the heart to make it big.
