I can't believe how giddy I am over the fact that the Godzilla franchise seems to have some decent continuity. I expected a random sci-fi storyline that had no effect on anything in the long run, but (after a slow start) I got the craziest and most enjoyable 'Zilla film so far that picks up where the previous one left off. The opinions of the main characters are amusingly dickish and conservative, the alien stuff is goofy as hell, and finally we're doing crazy monster shit.. in spaaace!

Bad. Bad bad bad. What in the world was this? It seems like a rematch from the last film (Ghidorah the Three-Headed Monster) mixed in with alien betrayal spy plot? OK, it sounds a bit better when I type it out, but still it went on for too long and was too cheesy. Why does Japan bother to send tanks against the kaiju? Fav scene: pre-moon landing Tintin style rocket landing on planet X.

Routine Godzilla adventure with a sci-fi slant. Hilarious dubbed dialogue makes Adams sound totally ridiculous ("You lousy, stinking rats!" he calls his alien captors at one point). For series fans only.

A fun blend of cheesy space sci-fi and kaiju action. Even though Godzilla plays a supporting role, the battles are hilarious and entertaining. G's victory dance alone makes this movie special. I rewound that scene three times and couldn't stop laughing. But I think what really elevates this one is the cohesive plot. The alien invasion story ties in nicely with the monster attacks, and none of the human story feels ancillary.

A great 3 a.m. couch surfer movie. Incomprehensible and weird, but impossible to turn off.

Having sufficiently degraded itself, Honda's kaiju series accepts its place in the annals of sci-fi camp. Full of space visuals, invading aliens, and giant monsters causing rampant destruction, the result is as entertaining as it is laughable.

Another great feel good godzilla for lovers of camp...a double feature of this with king Kong vs godzilla would be bliss. Aliens and mind control and flying saucers on strings and Godzilla being your buddy but not yet cutesy like future films...and a fun explosion of monster destruction at the end. Love when godzilla kicks a rock at sleeping ghidorahs head to wake him up for a beatdown

Feels more complete than any of the other post-original, pre-Hedorah Godzilla films. The pop art cinematography, the Twilight Zone plot, and the really fun acting all add up to one of the better ones.

Even though it has one fewer kaiju than the film that preceded it, B-movie aliens are SO COOL.

Invasion of Astro-Monster or Godzilla vs. Monster Zero is everything I didn't know I needed from Godzilla, that is fighting space-Godzilla in space. In fact, Godzilla, Space-Godzilla, and Not-Godzilla fight each other and aliens and bad metaphors for Western colonialism? Well, it's not like I've ever watched these movies for the plot.

I don't know if it's the goofy-looking space aliens, the relegation of Godzilla to a peripheral side character, or the American guy not even attempting to lip-sync, but this is definitely the most trashy B-movie entry in the series so far (and not in a good way).

The ‘Zilla series goes full sci-fi in an entry in which aliens ask the use of Godzilla and Rodan to defend their planet against Ghidorah, but than (big surprise) use all three to conquer earth. It's all very cheesy in the best way. But the plot drags too much to keep the movie engaging all the time. Also because there is too little kajiu action, especially the first fight on Planet X is a bit short, tho the fights still are amusing. The absolute highlight of this is Godzilla's victory danc

A little too much time on the conquering aliens (on a planet that orbits Jupiter?) and not enough time on the big monster battle (Godzilla, Rodan, and King Ghidorah). Pure crazy but enjoyable to the little kid in all of us (a bit rougher on the adult viewers, though).

Is it wrong for me to wish Godzilla had nothing to do with this, and that Monster Zero wasn't King Ghidorah? It's possibly the silliest turn in the Showa Godzilla series, but any B-movie sci-fi fan should check it out.

[watched the 93 min. u.s. cut w/ eng. lang. dub]. btw, if you think a single one of these Honda kaiju films offers a shred of keen social commentary: wait 'til you see Spongebob.

The first half hour or so is pretty rough. It's not until the Planet X sequences that it starts picking up, and then the great, albeit sparse, monster fights make for a lot of fun.
