MST3K 60/100. It was all a nightmare! Also, the way to defeat communism is apparently communism. Why doesn't the President look into the camera when addressing the nation? Why won't they actually call the enemy Soviets? Way too much stock footage in this US propaganda film. Fav scene: the set up in the bar was actually a decent start.

The "Twist" ending where it turns out it was all a dream is the few times it makes sense because this film doesn't understand war, nukes, invasion, fighting invasions, World War 2, stock footage, putting people in charge of things, taking over countries, evil and the being of, communism, Lois Lane, Russians, bears, bear cubs, the cubs, private industries, World War 3, defense, Jingoism, Xenophobia, dams, Lois Lane, and falling out of windows.

The moral of the story is that you should give your industries over to the military even in peacetime or the Commies will get you. The naked power-grab makes this one of the most disturbing movies I've ever seen, and for all the wrong reasons.

Soulless propaganda piece so loaded with boring stock footage that no amount of irony can render it watchable.

Even the poor man's Humphrey Bogart couldn't save the day.

The main villain has recurring nightmares of Chuck Norris. LOL. I love cheeseball 80s action flicks but this went, as one could say, "full retard."

A fairly nice idea, but unfortunately not much happens except a lot of stock footage plays. Then the "dream" wrapup (complete with moral) gives the whole proceedings a training-film taint. The Cubs scene is completely hilarious though, even without MST accompaniment, and Castle is quite lovely to look at. My favorite MST line: "Hello, you're on K-WAR." Also: "That's not so funny when it's true, George."

Almost like watching the 1950s version of Jan 6, 2021. And like that day, this film provides the most pathetic attempt at an invasion on American soil. Only interesting for propaganda purposes.

This is one of those movies that is so bad it's pretty entertaining. It was featured on MST3K, so it's that kind of movie. Hilariously inept with strange choices throughout, it has a very ambitious premise but no where near the talent or budget to make it. The message (make sure you fund the military!) is hilariously hamfisted as well. Would make a funny double feature with Red Dawn. The lead kind of reminded me of a Z grade Humphrey Bogart. Worth watching if you enjoy funny bad movies.

America gets invaded by stock footage, and it's sooooooooo boring. The filmmaker's inability to imagine nuclear warfare as anything other than a traditional invasion, but with occasional nukes, is mind-boggling.

Great B cast (including *two* Lois Lanes!) and odd shocking plot twist, but the ridiculous surprise ending and enough stock footage for three Ed Wood movies made it tough to navigate.

It'd be hilarious if it weren't so disturbing seeing US cities blowing up. "Give blood or the communists win" never sounded so earnest.

Dan Oherlihy is good as ohman, but that's about it really. More stock footage used than should be humanly feasible
