This is my review of the teenage girls in the theater: They're such self involved little cunts that they see no problem with being continuously disruptive by shouting and cackling throughout the whole movie, because they think their stupid comments are funny, and love the sound of their own obnoxious laughter. I hope Edward Scissorhands is their gynecologist. End of review.

One of the worst horror movie productions. They rely almost exclusively on abrupt loud noises to be scary. Terrible soundtrack. Nonsensical plot. Pathetic dialog. Shabby and stupid graphics and effects. A boring waste of time, with pretty much no redeeming qualities. Filmed almost entirely in the dark. Don't waste your time, it's worse than bad, it's pointless.

Immediate bonus points for not calling it chapter 4. TLK is a non connected sequel to '3' and loose prequel to '1' that works a lot better than the previous effort. However there is too much going on with too many characters and subplots and the end result is that the best ideas don't get enough time to breathe, such as the criminally under utilised key monster's abilities. The Deus Ex Momina climax is also entirely convenient but I would still watch a hot psychic granddaughter spinoff for sure.

Perfunctory series entry is well performed (Shaye as always is much better than her material) and well produced, with the requisite scary moments and unsettling atmosphere, but you can't help but feel this series has now run its course and is coasting on auto-pilot; it's decent entertainment, but awfully derivative (and repetitive) from previous entries. Please let Elise rest in peace from here on!

The Last Key features another terrific performance from Lin Shaye. Unsurprisingly, this fourth entry in the horror franchise is a step down. Though not a major one. The atmosphere is still creepy and the script seems clearly thought out. Although again, it fails to answer any questions posed by the original two films and seems just another entry for the sake of having another entry.

I frequently use the phrase "not offensively bad" & Im whipping out that tried and true moniker to stamp on The Last Key. Story starts with a dab of originality & I found interest in the mystery and intrigued by the way the demon influenced those in the house(including a good, quick twist moment with Shaye and one of the ghosts she finds, not gonna spoil things). I knew it wouldn't lead to much, and third act shenanigans proved me right, but hey I was involved and I gotta give it credit for that

Insidious 3 made a turn for the worse by nixing the gallows humour and increasing the solemnity, and 4 follows in its footsteps, showing little of the playfulness that Wan brought to the franchise. Exploring Rainier's abusive past wasn't a bad idea, and Shaye rises to the challenge, but the cliche ridden dialogue and perfunctory plotting undermine her at every turn, and Robitel's clumsy staging sabotages any potential scares. Whannell should reboot the series or put it to rest.

Like just about every other Insidious movie, there are a few hard-hitting, terrifying moments (specifically the beginning scene), that are bogged down by otherwise bland story beats. While this series has never been the most innovative the last two entries have taken a small dive, while still being fairly enjoyable. This one follows the last one, though I wish they would end it here.

A flawed horror movie that is at least better than the previous sequels. The acting is awful except for Lin Shaye, who is way to good for this movie. The dread and suspense does a good job of playing off predictability to scare you. We all know where the creature is going to pop out of, so give us a fake scare there and then the real scare in the same location. Decent horror. The story is messy, the key monster is underused and the prison setting is even more underused. Sad

Another generic misfire as we follow Elise's origin story as a talented psychic since she was a little girl in shittown America who can visit the Further and contact evil and good ghosts. Now she goes with the Spectral Sightings dudes to her old family home to face both dead and alive ghouls. Should be cool, isn't it? But it's just a collection of old horror tropes often delivered in a boring fashion -- we barely have jumpscares! But hey, SHE'S THE PSYCHIC AND WE ARE THE SIDEKICK.

I enjoyed this, albeit tepidly. Same wheelhouse as the third entry which I saw not too long ago. I don't expect much from these Wan, Byrne and Wilson-less entries, but I did like young Elise quite a bit in this one. Lin gives it her all as per usual and the predictable jumpscares are actually enjoyable to me. My wife jumps at almost all of them and those are the best parts of the movie for me. Tucker and Specs can lay the corniness on real thick especially the former, which detracts a bit. 6.2

This wasn't terrible but maybe that was the problem. They played everything so safe that the movie was bland, meandering, and lifeless.

Ev, kötü ruh, lanetli ev, geçmiş, hayalet avcilari, ruh çağırma (Elise hayaletlerle temas kuran bir uzmandır. Bu işinde çocukluğunun geçtiği eve geri dönmek zorunda kalır.) Finali sarmadı.

I can't say this one did too much for me. I think it's really cool that Lin Shaye, a woman in her 70s, has become the star of the franchise, but I don't find her character all that compelling. The story of this one isn't all that interesting, either. There were a couple of decent frights, but nothing truly scary. The series hasn't been the same since James Wan checked out of them, really. The attempts at comedy were pretty lame.

I wouldn't flat out call the film "horrible" per se, but I do think the series has overstayed its welcome at this point, because this creature...in this movie....honestly kind of looks cool, but the idea of it is kind of stupid, and its execution is just not great.

See my reviews of the previous two chapters; infantilising trend continues. Weirdly simple too. 'The Further', as always, feels unconvincing and silly.

The weakest of all. The first one was the new thing; the second one the expansion; the third one was different to the other ones; this one is the repetition. I hope this is the last one or a big change has to happen. Even the scare jumps are not that good and there is no a good Horror atmosphere.

This is a sequel to a prequel to 2011's original Insidious pic. But don't bother wringing your hands over any story bits you might have missed. It doesn't really matter if you've seen any of the previous three movies in this paranormal thriller franchise. They're all tied together with the most diaphanous and wispy story threads in any case. And when it comes to logic, well, that reasoning substance has never been more than a fleeting apparition in this series.

yikes but not the scary kind. just kind of, like, "yikes, did they try to make it scary?" ummm, points for the hint of an interesting story and the funny(-esque) technicians.

Insidious: The Last Key is a bland, boring, unimportant, unnecessary, and not very scary entry in a franchise that has increasingly showcased all of those attributes. It doesn't provide the necessary depth for its protagonist, its plot isn't very interesting, it relies on jump startles over genuine chills, and we never once feel like any of it matters. It isn't a horribly made movie, but it's one whose existence is very difficult to care about.
