In the Blood

Carano deserves something stronger than this snoozy, through-the-motions, lazy DTV-ish dud. She works hard, but this heavily cliched "in search of my missing husband" potboiler offers wimpily choreographed fight scenes, loooong stretches of nothing happening, muddy visuals, and a prevailing sense of nobody giving a shit. The kind of movie in which Carano circulates a "have you seen my husband?" flier, and the number on the flier is 555-1234. Come on, guys...

Love the you-are-there GoPro stuff and the gender reversed Taken hook is great. It's a little long and it loses its thread in the middle, but overall a solid show with some really fun quirky characters.

It's derivative and wasteful of the punchy-kicky talent of Carano with a silly deus ex machina ending. Having said that I'm a fan of Carano and I'm glad she's getting work even if it's shaky B-movies like this. Worth a rental, not worth a rewatch

Junky action vehicle for Gina Carano. She tries, and the results are OK, but she certainly deserves a better director and better cinematography. Surprisingly the script is one of the film's strong points, but we end up just on the pleasant side of watchable.

in haywire, carano was lucky enough to be directed by soderbergh, here though, no dice. the plot is weak from start to finish, the acting is terrible, and the movie is only slightly elevated when carano starts kicking ass. that said, this one shares the same caveat as haywire, if you lack the y gene, it's as fun as filling out a tax form.

I don't know about what's in the blood, but Gina Carano is in my number 1 slot for best female action star. This girl sure knows how to put a beat-down on men twice her size. She's incredible to watch with her mixed martial arts background and her epic way of taking out an enemy. I commented during the movie that I think she's a better action star than Stallone right now. Look out guys, girls might be taking over the action industry!...

Some props for Gina Carano. The girl is trained for hand-to-hand combat by her lunatic father. During their island honeymoon, they end up in a life and death struggle. The plot is full of holes, and is basically a vehicle for a girl badass. A few good fights and action scenes, but it has bad pacing, and lacks depth, detail and credibility. Fairly good music. A lot of killing and the ending is nonsense. Some very poor story telling. It easily could have been better and more believable.

1238: not bad. good start, weak ending !

I'd love to see Carano in something well executed - she has mad skills, my good sir!
