Allegedly some dip shit in the mid-90s watched Stripes and thought, 'Well damn I could do a cheaper and crappier version of that. And since it will be a 90s comedy with a poor script, I better get Pauly Shore to star in it.'

Only Pauly Shore can help make a movie this bad. Fun fact: Having Andy Dick thrown in the mix doesn't help it out any...

Pauly Shore has done it again! And just like every time he does it, it sucks. It's too goofy to even be funny. Utter crapulence!

I just felt awkward watching this. Like when you see a stand up comic try and make some jokes and just no one laughs. It's just awkward. To be fair I think I laughed once. Whoopie.

Pauly Shore is literally the poor man's Adam Sandler. I still laughed at some of the jokes in this dumber than dumb movie. Someone could remake this and use it as a commentary on the military.

As bad as it sounds, but I have a soft spot for Pauly Shore.

Seen: 2. I know I have seen this twice. This is another Shore production that I would be curious to see again. Always only for science purposes.

This 1994 Pauly Shore vehicle stretches its star's thin shtick to the breaking point with a laugh-deficient screenplay that borrows shamelessly from Bill Murray's far superior Stripes.

(Viewing 20/07/13): There is no such thing as a good Pauly Shore film, only degrees of mediocrity or badness. In The Army Now falls somewhere in the middle of his filmography, which means it's pretty dire but narrowly avoids being outright terrible. It was never going to compete with Mash or even Stripes, but there was at least some potential for dumb laughs in the idea of throwing a complete slacker like Shore into a strict military setting. It isn't funny, but it's at least tolerable. Just.

Anything with Pauly Shore just sucks. Yes, even Encino Man and Son in Law, although those two are at least watchable.
