In a Day

In a Day is the weirdest RomCom I've scene. The film hits some of the usual genre tropes, but I couldn't shake the sinister undertone that's prevalent throughout the film. Partly it's Richards' writing that makes the men quite aggressive and the women uncomfortably pliable. And partly it's Robertson's facial expression and line deliver in a matter-of-fact way. In the short 80 mins there's a compelling mix of cute moments and uncomfortable ones that make the film different and oddly enjoyable.
