In Old Monterey

A bit of a weird one in the Gene Autry catalog as he joins the war effort in preparing it's audience for the upcoming WWII. He plays a Army sergeant stationed out in cowboy country where the Army is doing their exercises to the annoyance of it's locals. It's a bizarre mix of old and new, not really making all that much sense, but made fun because of letting Smiley Burnette drive a mini tank, letting the band join in on the slapstick and George 'Gabby' Hayes continually shooting his mouth off.
