In Dreams

Quietly more dream like than some movies that wear that on their sleeve (looking at you, Stay), In Dreams manages to run over ninety minutes and despite being made in the nineties, never once play Weezer. Bold moves indeed. Everyone gives it a go, or at least I assume Stephen Rea does. He's unequivocally unprovoked by anything in this.

Has some good atmosphere, but it's not a good movie.

Great looking bad movie

The weakest link here is Robert, unfortunately, but the picture maintains creepy feelings well & creates a fair amount of empathy. Annette's continuing breakdown is excellent.

The ludicrous material and gorgeous imagery never congeal into the right kind of over-the-top pulp hysteria. Jordan illustrates the limp script beautifully without injecting any vitality into it. Bening gives a committed performance but a mumbling, muttering RDJ proves an inert foil. Lots of scribbling in the margins (apples, fairy tales, mirrors, a submerged town) but no text.

Twin peaks meets elm street with bening giving good sarah palmer and even some badalamenti-esque score. young bob downey wasn't at his best -and not a great pick in my eyes- so the final act suffered.

Sometimes when we reach for art we stumble blindly into the meaningless and boring.

A silly poorly made B movie with a much better cast.

Much unlike my PSI suggested, I adored this film. A clever story and exquisite lunatic performances by Bening and Downey Jr. (and personal favourite Stephen Rea).
