Iluminacja

18 Novembre 2016 - Molt interessant durant la major part del temps. Explicada de manera atractiva, canviant, sorprenent. Llavors moments irregulars i divagadors. De fet no sé si entenc prou bé la situació. Però m'ha semblat bastant viva i força moderna per tenir 30 anys.

I like its tone and ideas and a number of individual scenes, but the disjointed episodic editing style was too big a barrier on this day and the docu parts were not that interesting. I'd like to give it another shot because I feel aspects of the film should really work for me, but it just didn't as a whole.

It's absolutely gorgeously shot. The story structure needed some getting use to, but after that works great. It touches on interesting subjects and themes as the clash between someone's big dreams for life and the reality of everyday life. All the inbetweens, like the interviews, are fun. But something keeps it from being a masterpiece for me. And that's that it didn't grab me emotionally and more so for this movie didn't work on a deeper spiritual level.

I was expecting some sort of surrealist satire, but was pleasantly surprised it turned out to be quite different. It's artsy and doesn't have much of a plot but the theme & meaning is pretty straight-forward. "Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans," as they say.
