Unnecessary remake of Tin Pan Alley (1940). Most of the time I was struggling to understand what the point was and what the hell William Lundigan was doing there. Sure, lighthearted music stuff, but what tied it together wasn't exactly brilliant. The guy that made this bearable was Dennis Day, a guy that didn't do many movies, but ended-up a regular on The Jack Benny Program. A decent sidekick type guy who got the laughs.
