Idlewild

It takes so many cliches from so many different genres, puts them in a blender with its own snazzy sepia visual extravagance and comes out with something very uneven but quite original, refreshingly so. It's a tough one to score, that's for sure. Big Boi and Andre are certainly better than the majority of rappers who decided to act, and more interesting too.

Not very memorable. Cool soundtrack though.

Idlewild has moments of sticky sentimentality and stretches of dull exposition, but you've got to give it this: It's unpredictable.

I enjoyed this. It wasn't quite a musical, wasn't a long-form music video, and wasn't a straight drama, but it was good. Andre 3000 is a far better actor than Big Boi (or this script played to his strengths better), but both are acceptable.

Worth it for the kick-ass musical numbers. I thought it was great, but my friend hated it with a passion, so your taste in music really affects how you view the movie.

The style. The music. Absolutely terrific. Quickly, though, several of the big song numbers are actually from previous OutKast albums, most notably Speakerboxxx

It feels like a 2 hour outkast music video...Andre delivers a steller performance whilw Big Boi seems to clown around. The swing dance sequnces are fun to watch...

It was more like a long music video than a movie. Most of the songs were from the old records and not the "Idlewild", which was kind of dissapointing. Still, it's worth watching, great dancing scenes.

Idlewild is a decent film with a great cast and a soundtrack that is nothing short of sensational. While I may not be making a second pass at the film, I will be headed out to pick up the soundtrack.

It's pretty much a really long Outkast video with a crappy/cliche story (no Outkast hate intended).
