Doesn't even reach the level of the usual sitcom shenanigans. These Ice Age movies all blend together - they have no reason to exist except as loud, colorful kid distractors - but this fifth entry shows how utterly exhausted the franchise is, which should have started and ended with the first one.

Other than looking the same there is nothing to link the characters in this film to the basic but mildly sweet original. The characters, like absolutely everything else in this debacle, are complete non-entities. You should only consider suffering this if you are a parent - and even then try to steer your kids away from it. Disasterous.

Created for no discernable audience and featuring an incomprehensibly stupid plot and only the ever-toxic Manny for "character development". There's a lot happening here (a three-film Ice Age marathon didn't help make sense of it all), and as a package it's a baffling mess, but once in a while the chaos produces a laugh; sometimes even a genuine one. It's something else, that's for sure.

There were a couple of moments where the writers seemed to struggle for relevancy (dad jokes about technology), but overall the fifth "Ice Age" film was one more effortlessly funny affair that I watched with a dumb smile on my face throughout thanks to the beautiful animation, the great voice work (with Simon Pegg being simply amazing), the returning trademarks, the character chemistry and the physical comedy. It might not feel as essential as some previous instalments but it sure is hilarious.

Manny, Diego, and Sid still don't have that hilarious chemistry they once had (though Sid still gets a few moments to shine-see the failed proposal; wedding planning) but there's plenty of comedic energy found elsewhere, with Granny and Buck as colourful as always ("I'm out of cake, but I got salami!"; see Buck's mind-trip) and Scrat's escapades still fresh and fun. Neither the new villains or the out-of-this-world plot take themselves too seriously, which help keep the film entertaining.

This is really scraping the bottom of the barrel. They completely ran out of ideas on this one. Even Scrat -- who is usually awesome -- fails to really deliver here.

Ice Age: Collision Course is the worst Ice Age movie we've seen so far, and that's saying something considering how bad some of the sequels have been. It's doing the same dance it's always done, refusing to evolve or improve, because the filmmakers know they'll make their money regardless of its quality. The voice actors phone it in, the animators don't care, the writers are giving us more of the same, and there's almost nothing here appreciate. It can't generate laughs, emotions, or thoughts.

Watched in 3D with decent effects. Yes, they're simple and I can't tell the movies apart. I don't mind if the cast keep on cashing those checks. I hadn't watched the franchise in awhile so there were some new characters (almost too many). Fav scene: first act with the squirrel in space.

Buck was the ONLY redeeming feature in the entire film, and I am bias because I love Simon Pegg, but he was still the only good thing.

Blue Sky has lost all shame, really. It might be a step up from three and four; still absolutely forgettable.

I feel bad for parents that have to watch these. Probably the worst work watch I've had. It was better than hearing white people talk about their pickle ball league which is what was happening beforehand.

The fifth entry in the Ice Age series is a loud, lazy, laugh-starved cash grab that cynically exploits its target audience (I use the term advisedly) by serving them scraps and calling it yummy. Even two-year-olds can see through the hustle.

The franchise is on thin ice at this point, and not even Buck can save it. Also where did the grandma sloth character come from?

I'm not sure why I keep watching these, and, considering the franchise is now 14 years old and all four previous movies are rather forgettably mediocre, I'm not sure why any one else does either. Like the others this isn't bad, just fluff with a few creative moments and a lot of nonsensical plotting and family coming together themes that don't fully work. I've come to hate that squirrel and his nut, though. That gag has gotten stale and the way it's shoehorned into the rest of the film is awful.

A generic plot, combined with a generic B-plot and a whole lot of awful, not funny 'comedy'. I laughed once. I can't believe that they're even trying to be creative anymore - just looking for all the lowest common denominator stuff. I hate that stupid little squirrel thing. Kill that character off. Pegg's character was insufferable. I can't really criticise the animation, of course, it's nice and colourful. But that's about the only praise I can give it.

Pegg as Buck provided the only fun, energetic moments in this fifth instalment of the Ice Age franchise. The original characters have become dull and dull, though the Scrat bits were ludicrous but funny. Some really bad science in this one, though at this point I think I'm mainly watching to play guess the celebrity voice. Mediocre!

Nothing new except more female popstars on voice overs and more annoying whimsical male characters taking Sid's thunder away. A little variation in personality would be nice. They don't all have to be bundles of energy doing and saying stupid things full speed. Brush that away, it's Ice Age #32114. You know what you're getting. Good family fun, well produced and entertaining. I enjoy them so I don't mind if they didn't reinvent the wheel this time over either.

Ice Age: Collision Course may be showing the series' prehistoric age, but in some important ways it also emphasizes traditional ideas about marriage and family that mainstream culture is increasingly rejecting these days. (pluggedin.com)

Very disappointing. As the ice age movies progress they just get worse and worse till you're left with the fifth instalment of what appears to be an enormous train wreck. I feel like the writers have completely lost the plot, and instead have just scrambled together the actors in a room with a mess of papers and animators and hoped for something to happen. But it's not an old person saying that, even my niece and nephew(age 8 & 6) were leaving the cinema confused. DO NOT RECOMMEND
