armand assante makes a pretty convincing mike hammer, but i cant help to think that this movie might have been better suited in the 00's. mike hammer just isnt quite as brute-ish and doesn't-play-by-the-rules as i would have liked.

Enough psycho-cojones to make Dirty Harry look like a pansy.

Entertaining 80's action film based on Mike Hammer novels. It starts with a bang and manages to keep the pace up but still feels a bit overlong at 110 mins. It's really more of an action film with exploitation-y feel than a proper neo-noir.
