I Dream of Jeanie

As far as biopics on songwriter Stephen Foster, I Dream of Jeanie (1952) falls somewhere in between Harmony Lane (1935) and my favorite of the bunch, Swanee River (1939). Does a okay job of implementing his songs with the life story of the man. They try to smear the charm on, which helps on the little there is to tell. Okay for what it tries to do, but it's hardly a remarkable release.
