Sitting there in the theater it's 1958 and I'm stewing over something casually racist while being terrified by a black (gasp) pin replacing a white pin oh my god I unlocked the movie.

In an alternate universe (one where quality mattered less) this movie would be held in the high esteem that people bestow upon Carnival of Souls. It's weird and cheap and infinitely watchable. Quick plot solve though: stop it. Just stop it. Someone else wants to be sure? No. Stop it. The police don't believe you? No. Just stop it and stay stopped it.

This was phenomenal until the goddamn Scooby Doo ending.

Band helms an offbeat chiller with surreal touches supplied by veteran Czech montage master Slavko Vorkapich. Marred by a disappointing ending, this is still worth watching for its fresh story line, Boone's uncharacteristically subdued performance, and Vorkapich's eerie contributions.

The ending could be better, but the build up to it is fantastic. An increasing sense of creepiness and foreboding, where the audience is brought in sync with the lead character.

Really good flick yet doesn't quite stick the landing. Richard Boone rocks.

This creepy and somewhat artsy horror film is like a really good episode of "The Twilight Zone". Boone is great. Theodore Bikel is a bit much as the cemetery's aged Scottish caretaker. Sadly it has a really terrible ending that undoes the building supernatural menace by providing a dull, real world explanation.

Boone's expressive performance anchors the film, but the editing, music, and photography are what really puts it leaps and bounds beyond its peers. A ridiculous ending, unfortunately.

Builds decently until the end when it falls apart. It was almost like they tried to see how many unnecessary overlays they could cram into the final 20 minutes.

Everything is great until the last 10 minutes or so--when we are treated to a very dumb ending indeed.
