a drunken, despairing melodrama that plays like hong sang-soo with the melancholy amped way up and the irony removed. not much subtlety here--maybe it isn't even coherent--but it's mining some deep wells of desperate emotion, feels like the fucking world's about to end. and it's GORGEOUS. watch the first 20 seconds of this for a representative sample: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eg6j1-nZdRU
