Formulaic, but fun and sweet. Hits the beats of its genre well, but I'm gonna echo what several critics have said already: that this feels like a slight missed opportunity, with the bones for more ambitious and complicated character drama.

This is an entertaining basketball movie. There are numerous cameos and performances from real NBA players in this movie. The script has some predictable moments but it is entertaining. Overall I would recommend this film.

Reminds me of any "serious" Sandler role not helmed by a filmmaking team with a cohesive vision (i.e. Spanglish, Reign on Me) in that there's traces of potential, but a laziness in execution.

A run of the mill, but solid sports drama. In movies where a lot of people play themselves I always think it’s funny when a couple people have to play characters instead. Edwards was great as a cocky young superstar. One of the best new faces in the nba.

Classic Sandler feelgood comedy, written by the same EA Sports writers who brought you MyCareer story modes. Fine, but forgettable.

A clichéd formulaic sports story, but a rather well made one. Sandman is good but Juancho and Anthony Edwards were the big surprises here.

Despite its formulaic nature, “Hustle” is a crowdpleaser that is engaging and entertaining. The performances from Sandler and Hernangómez are pitch-perfect, and the direction and visual style add an exhilarating spirit to the well-worn formula.

Of course it's clichéd and all, but Sandman's love for the sport is all over it and it makes the film charming and fun, hitting the notes it has to hit to keep us entertained.

The cliches kind of mount up as it goes on, but by and large it runs through the tried and tested underdog sports movie formula ably enough. You can sense Sandler’s genuine interest and enthusiasm for the subject matter in his performance. The “going viral on the internet” montage is mildly cringe, as it is in essentially every film and TV show that’s ever tried to depict such a thing.

Presents itself as a candid excavation of the rise-and-grind pathway to sports success, though in reality it's a toothless two-hour commercial for the NBA. The Sandman is charmingly restrained (for him) and makes you hope that he'll be asked to keep stretching himself in better movies. The cast includes an insane number of real NBA players, which makes you think anyone jogging by the camera is eligible for a SAG card.

Enjoyable sports drama that stays to strong on the zero-to-hero line to be really great, but a well done performance by Sandler keeps it from being average.

Really enjoyable for Sandler fans & basketball fans alike. Juancho acquitted himself well here. Little bit of a misuse of Ben Foster to be honest. He's so much better than the role he was given. All in all I enjoyed the hell out of it, so I'm giving it an 8.2. Probably more like a 6.5-7 movie, but I'm the target demo for sure, so it's significant higher for this mark.

Hustle feels authentic and personal. The tonal shifts are handled extremely well, the details are well observed. It's formulaic, but it may be the best and most striking example of the sports underdog genre in movie history.

Yetenek avcısı Adam Sandler, basketbol takımına yeni oyuncu aramaktadır. Aradığı oyuncu İspanya'da sokak oyununda bulur. Fakat önüne çıkan engelleri aşması gerekmektedir. Spor filmlerinin babası Adam Sandler'ın iyi olduğu film, basketbol oyun antrenmanlarıyla ilerliyor. Sporda sıkı çalışma başarı getirir. Sıkılmadan izletiyor. Ama hep aynı konu. Filmin sonunda, kazanan Bo Cruz. Getir oradan dumbelları. Bas Bas Bas. Kolum çıktı.

Sandler is great in this flick, balancing the comedy and drama very well. He definitely brings a spark to roles like this that very few could bring. It is a film that showcases basketball and all the things that make it a wonderful sport across the globe. Hernangomez also showcased some chops in this movie and put on a fine display of basketball talent as well. Bo Cruz is a very engaging character and humanized within the script. That is a very big part of why this film succeeds.

A feel-good sports movie. I’m glad the Sandler grossout factor was shining with its absence. I don’t know the first thing about basketball and was pleasantly surprised to find out, nearly all of the cast were professional basketball players and actual managers. The performances weren’t too terrible even though Hernangomez (Bo Cruz) wasn’t exactly serving Daniel Day-Lewis.

A by-the-book feel-good sports drama at its heart, but there's a lot about it that drives it up a notch, including savvy casting and some good humor. It ultimately succumbs to the corniness, which I find lamentable because the writing seems intelligent enough to go past that.

I am not a fan of basketball and so it's likely that I don't appreciate certain aspects of this film. However, I am a lifelong Sandler fan and I do have a weakness for 'redemption via sport' stories. I was puzzled as to why Bo Cruz had a cricket bat handy when he confronted Stanley after Stanley followed him home; as far as I know, cricket is not a known sport in Spain.

It’s a bit too feel good, and mostly feels like their daughter actually shot the film herself, some scenes really feel like a highschool drama. Sandler is good. The rest is meh, LeBron’s producing is I think about getting everyone in the nba in the movie.

In summary, it’s Jerry Maguire meets The Color of Money meets Rocky. Been there, done that, right? Not necessarily. Though undeniably formulaic, Hustle stands as a compelling argument for how much the world of a film can authenticate the drama within it.

A solid but unspectacular and formulaic sports movie filled wall to wall with cameos. Particularly impressive is NBA player Juancho Hernangomez, who gives a performance WAY more impressive than he has any right to. I could see him getting future roles based on how well he did here. I avoid Sandler pure comedies, but this isn't a traditional Sandler movie. Odd that LeBron James doesn't make a cameo given that 3/4ths of the league seems to and he was a producer. Recommended to basketball fans.

I really liked the ending. Sandler gives a very good performance, but he generally does in dramatic roles (which is really the only time I willingly watch him anymore). The story itself is just conventional storytelling done well. There's a little emotion, it's funny sometimes in an organic way, because you can get into the Bo/Sandler duo and you cheer for them to get Bo into the NBA, so their interactions feel earned.
