Minnie Driver is wonderful in this true story of a UK school teacher who inspires her students to think creatively. The action is mostly from adolescent misbehavior and a few inappropriate small choices she makes. The politics with the other teachers was miserable. Overall it did not seem particularly clever or insightful, but it was entertaining to watch. Good acting for a somewhat boring story. Everyone should have at least one cool teacher. Not a great movie, but it has a few good moments.

Nostalgia sans rose-tinted glasses. A well-scripted look at teenage life in '70s Wales, supported by marvellously-orchestrated performances of classic rock songs and a standout turn from Minnie Driver.
