Not the worst Howling sequel

More drama than horror, but the carnival setting works as a good stage for the events that play out and there are some fun moments, in spite of kills often being tame or off-screen. If you only rate these films based on the quality of the FX, then yes, The Freaks is one of the worst entries in the series so far (and The Rebirth wouldn't be far behind for sheer lack of them). But B-aspects aside, in terms of general execution and the script, I'd say this is one of the better ones.

While it's not the worst installment of the series, and one wouldn't expect much from a sixth installment, it's still pretty poor. The dip in score here is largely due to poor funding and shoddy production, but the story had enough potential, it was decent enough for what it was.
