Once again, much like Run Fatboy Run, we have a movie that should be terrible, but thanks to the presence of Simon Pegg ends up being entertaining enough to qualify for mediocre. There's not much to say about this, it's an extremely cliched story with good casting actually, but there's nothing memorable here. Pegg needs to get back to making good movies great instead of making bad movies bearable.

Didn't make it to the end as I needed to go to bed with my girlfriend and have sex. It had nothing to do with the content of the movie of course. It was dull, and not true to the source material, not that I have read it.

Clichéd and uninspired fish out of water tale, with the predictable arc: Be yourself, stop reaching, settle down. Pegg's usual geekatronics are getting a bit tiresome, but Fox makes for pleasant viewing, and Dunst wins the trooper award for trying to inject some charm into the dullness of it all. Sadly, it's only claim to fame is Weide's film school amateurism, making it the most continuity challenged movie of all time. Finally: Huston, your ass used to be all "God? No God!".. Wtf happened?

Deserved a much lower score (MUCH lower) for being a trite, predictable, derivative comedy with no heart and few laughs. The redeeming feature, the thing that netted it about 50 extra points, is Simon Pegg who carries the movie despite its gaping flaws. Also, Scully (sorry, Gillian Anderson) has a pretty rocking cameo role. Everything else is terrible. Terrible.

Conventional, but not half as bad as you dorks say it is. Some hack said something about it not taking a big enough bite or not having enough teeth-- some mouth metaphor (Dunst reference?) --basically they wanted it to be a snipe job. Really, though, do we need another navel-gazing Hollywood movie telling us to hate celebrities? We can do that sort of lifting on our own. (btw, how is Megan Fox simultaneously smoking hot and really average? She's Jennifer Connelly mk. II, the smaller boobs model)

The first half was pretty good, funny dialogue, interesting characters, fun. The second half turned every character into a cliche which was disappointing. Simon Pegg was pretty good, as was Kirsten Dunst. They were cute together. Megan Fox pretty much plays herself, which is an annoying stuck up attention whore. I think the first half outweighs the second in my opinion, so the movie is still worth a watch, especially if you are a fan of Simon Pegg.

i have to say it seemed like an ill fit for pegg. the over all quality of this movie is pretty standard, nothing exceptionally good, nothing to really grab the viewer's attention. it's by no means a bad movie, but as a rule of thumb romantic comedies are never very good either.

An overall mediocre rom-com buoyed by the comedic genius of Simon Pegg and Hollywood star power of Dunst and Bridges. I thought this movie was going to be good, but it turned into a typical rom-com. Simon Pegg seemed to "sell out" for this role, much like the film's character. I thought Ricky Gervais would've been a much better fit.

Starts funny and promising, with original and cussed characters, but the carefully and seemingly parodic plot leads finally to a schematic and thus somewhat dissapointing - even if consequent - finale.

Another subpar movie saved by Simon Pegg. But don't get me wrong it's still shitty and cliched and predictable. The title of the film makes no sense at all either.

I'm all down for the "lovable goof" stereotype that Pegg was playing, but let's not kid ourselves, EVERYONE would bang Megan Fox in that situation. and also, this movie violates article 3c of movie script regulatory code of 2005, as in "in any script whereby one of the characters is cast by Jeff Bridges, only said characters might imbibe and/or drink the cocktail White Russian."

It's pretty bad, but manages to be fairly watchable, mostly thanks to Pegg and the rest of the casting. Both the story and the humour are very predictable, which is a shame because it could have been a decent rom-com. Right now it's mediocre. Title doesn't have anything to do with the film and sounds way more interesting than the film actually is.

How to Lose Friends & Alienate People is a moderately funny movie but it played it too safe to be worth seeing. There's no bite to the satire and much more slapstick than you might think. It's based on real events that were somehow more crazy than the antics that happen here. It works best as background noise while you do more important things with your life.

Simon Pegg makes this watchable, but he is the only thing good about this forgettable film. I wasn't expecting anything out of Megan Fox (and she did nothing to make me regret my zero expectations), but I would have hoped people I enjoy like Jeff Bridges and Kirsten Dunst could have brought something to the table. It's hard to blame them though. Their characters weren't great. Best to avoid.

Everyone seems to have it in for this movie, but t made me laugh, and that was all it was meant to do ... The acting ? who cares, its not meant to be anything other than a light hearted romp, so i am not looking for "oscar" performances. Bridges, Pegg, Fox and Dunst were just fine, and Peggs totally unabashed crassness was both fun and embarrassing. Sure it could have been a better, pithier ..... you can say that about 99% of films

The most interesting element of this comedy is figuring out if Pegg can pull off a leading role away from the warm, nurturing cocoon of his collaborations with Edgar Wright. He's appealing, but the film is a flimsy thing. It moves lifelessly through standard romantic comedy paces with bland side-trips into the allure and shabby ethics of celebrity journalism. It's the equivalent of an article that you flip through on the way to something else, forgetting it was even there once the pages turn.

Incredibly weak, considering the cast. The only 'humor' is pretty much just Pegg acting like a clueless jerkbag and Fox acting like a clueless ditz. Starts out like Swimming with Sharks but immediately devolves into a relationship story; with one more badly written female character, it could have been titled Fuck-Marry-Kill. Also, they should have remembered the MST3K rule: don't reference movies in the middle of your movie that are way better.

The best thing in this film is Simon Pegg. But even he make this into a really funny comedy. There is a couple of moments of laughter but seeing as this is meant to a comedy and that is point is to make you laugh alot it falls flat on it face. As a film its ok and and watchable. Big thumbs up to Gillian Anderson whos character is a total bitch and its a shame that shes not in the film more

Ahh Simon Pegg. he has this charisma that makes even the most lackluster movies watchable, not that this movie is necesssarily lackluster, but its a hint boring at times. So we have Simon Pegg to the rescue. Joined by an interesting cast, including the ultra hot Megan Fox, who gets a chance to do some real acting with people instead of robots, just the right hint to keep this slightly above average, but not much more.

Had this not featured the typical romantic comedy subplot, and just focused on Simon Pegg's character being a goofup, this would have been a better film. Its a shame to see that it didn't fare well at the box office in America, its better than a lot of the other crap that gets released.

Simon Pegg totally carries this film, unsurprisingly. Enough genuinely funny humor that makes you forget that it's a little uneven on the whole. Just sit back and enjoy it. The title is completely unfitting by the way.
