Partly bc it's the last "proper" Universal Frankenstein film I'll see & bc there's a newish, sort of "Jekyll/Hyde" subplot, this seemed slightly more watchable than House of Frankenstein. Still, Carradine's miscast as Dracula again (at least he hypnotizes menacingly) & there's a hell of a lot of contrivances (Dr. Edelman does really dumb things) designed to deliver NO Monster fight AGAIN! Drac drops out early AGAIN & there's no actual Wolfman/Frank battle. Frank's onscreen for 5 mins tops

The movie ends leaving you with a feeling that nothing really happened. The story is relatively uninteresting and complimented with only partially satisfying acting and writing, not to mention that the monsters in this movie are all just short-lived cameos.

Carradine seems tired of Dracula already, Chaney seems more than tired, he's damn well spent. All the monsters just want to die so they can stop being resurrected to do the same things in film after film after film. What kind of life is this for a monster? What kind of life is this for an actor? What kind of movie is this for a viewer?

Most people seem to really dislike this one but I actually found it pretty fun. Much better than the other lame Dracula sequels Dracula's Daughter & Son of Dracula. This is one of those movies that would stand better on it own if it didn't have the Universal Monsters in it and just concentrated on the mad scientist/Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde angle.

A weird patchwork quilt of a film. Contents: 3 monsters, 1 hunchback lady and 1 slow-talking guy.

The last of the monster mash (not withstanding the superior, comedic offering released a few years later). With the exception of a devious villager, and a Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde subplot that plays out with not a mention, everyone seems tired of this game.

Right ingredients but not the right mix. Once again Dracula dies too soon and the Monster is given very little to do. Chaney makes out the best but even he is short changed any decent werewolf scenes. A disappointing end to the series.

It is neat that Lon Chaney’s wolfman gets to somewhat wrap up his story arc with the same actor it started with, something he’s alone in in this series. Beyond that though this is overstuffed in an unfocused way, with Dracula, wolfman and the creature all in one film but absent structure, with Dracula and wolfman not even interacting once despite literally being under the same roof. I was surprised by a character being named Nina in 1945, I thought that was a newer name for some reason

Well, although this movie is all over the place, you get Dracula, Wolf Man and Frankenstein's Monster all in once place. Silly but fun.

O Retiro de Drácula/A Mansão de Drácula estreava há 75 anos nos EUA. Essa infinidade de filmes de monstros da Universal são tão enfadonhos quanto a Marvel. Box Ataúde Macabro.

Yes, mash it all together! A complete monster mess, but what does that matter....?

Nina is quite possibly the most unintentionally hilarious character ever put on celluloid

A definite improvement over House of Frankenstein, but it still suffers from being a bit unfocused and the final act being a somewhat rushed mess.

Perhaps there's an interesting parallel to be drawn here to the end of WWII and the atom bomb, a "cure" for what seemed like an ever present evil that ended up being only another horror in disguise.

Once again wolfman/frankenstein/dracula/hunchback/mad scientist/angry villagers relive in this movie. Originality is completely lost. It's right about time Universal stopped making these movies.

A decent monster mash. Definitely made as a cash-in on much superior films.

The movie isn't so much about Drac as it is about Dr. Edelman. Not bad.
