Hostage

The Code Red cover features a different scantily-clad lady. The movie itself is fine but could have been boiled down more. Kerry Mack appears to have been contractually obligated to take off her top or be in various see-through clothing while she plays a young mother. Fav scene: they're in the Middle East for some reason and there's an action car sequence with people attacking them and then stuff blows up.

A lightweight psychological examination of male possessiveness, which doesn't go deep at all -- the boyfriend manipulates his girlfriend because ... he loves her, that's it. It's unfortunate, as this unsure screenplay wastes the acting talents from the leads. It's otherwise a fun film at times, even when it gets too silly, and there's the sensation that if the story and theme were more unified and worked on more, this would've been a fine thriller.
