Since this movie is brand new, you probably assume I saw it in the theater. But, actually, I paid to watch it at home. Yeah. Now who's embarrassed? As an aside, this was my tenth Daniel Radcliffe movie. Tenth! I'd have to drop some serious dating stories to top that embarrassment...like the time I wet my pants while driving back from an NBA game on a first date. First! Joke's on you though. I married that girl.

I enjoyed the movie, wasn't predictable. I recommend it. After reading the criticks, I taught it would be all garbage, was positivly surprised and not at any point bored. Just a bit unclear...

Horns is not a success, primarily because it doesn't understand what tone it's trying to go for. Or, its director doesn't understand. It plays out like a black comedy, even though it doesn't really fit that mold and doesn't often try to make us laugh; it's weird to try to describe it. It's also pretty shallow, and its overuse of flashbacks drew me out of the narrative more often than it helped. It's got a good supporting cast and some of the effects are decent, but Horns isn't worth your time.

As usual for Aja, this is all over the place tonally and performance wise, but it works - Radcliffe goes straight and sincere, making him the perfect focal point (and foil) for the strange and outlandish characters around him. Probably the best non-King example of actually capturing the unique mood and tone of a King novel, especially as childhood dynamics repeat and reverberate into the “adult” world. Never especially scary, but moments of unsettling gore keep the audience off-guard.

Oh yeah, I really enjoyed this one. I haven't read the book yet so I don't know how it compares, but going into this completely blind (I just knew the dude grows horns) and it kept me interested in seeing just what will unfold next, and I couldn't guess all the things that were coming. Great performances here from an interesting cast. Just a good, twisted little story.

Kind of an interesting idea I guess, but whenever Aja get bogged down in these "big idea" movies (Mirrors, the second half of High Tension) he makes the films absolute slogs to get through. Maybe some are just meant to play inside the genre confines.....

Film is all over the place, it can't decide what it wants to be. Interesting premise though. Has a bit of a Stephen King feel, with the scenes of the characters as kids, not surprising considering Hill's parentage. Bonus points for having Sunset Rubdown playing during the end credits.

One of these flicks that are probably better to know little about before watching. Has quite a few elements from many genres which all seem to come together quite greatly. Radcliff puts in an impressive performance putting in many different emotions.

Radcliffe is great in this. The film itself is great for the most part but looses it a bit and there's zero explanation for why things are even happening. Which is fine, but feels like weak plotting

I really liked the concept, and most of the story is fine, but the execution was problematic. I think a lot of the issue was tone; it didn't seem to know whether it wanted to be a serious crime mystery or a supernatural comedy. It had moments where both of these elements shined, but the juxtaposition made for a confusing experience. Cinematography was good, and the performances were fine. I guess I liked it enough in the end, but I don't really know if it was a good movie.

I didn't feel like I was watching Harry Potter which I attribute to Daniel's acting. Looking forward to seeing him in more dramatic roles. Interesting premise, with no clear moral beat over your head. Ending seemed anti-climatic from all the lead up.

I wanted to like Horns a lot more than I actually did. The film delivers a good performance from Radcliffe, an interesting concept, some well shot scenes and a well-matched soundtrack. My problem, in essence, boils down to a weak screenplay. It never builds or maintains enough tension to be exciting. It's possibly too long and unfocused. The tragedy is that it showed so much potential. Horns isn't actually bad it's just disappointing.

It's not terribly amazing, but the writing stays clever pretty long and Daniel as an actor does great, so though it won't blow you away it's definitely worth the watch.

Horns was definitely a mix of genres, but it never really decided if it wanted to be Twilight, Fargo, or Se7en. And that cost it. While it tried to figure it out exactly what it was however, there were cool shots and most of the acting was pretty good. The story could have been more focused and improved but Horns is a good movie for what it was, although just a sad reflection of what it could have been.

Watch Daniel do a Midwestern accent...and a Dublin accent...and a wiseguy accent...and a James Dean accent. Watch him do em all in one sentence. Listen to his jaw audibly tense up from rounding American R's. "Wait...wasn't that line almost too American?" Only Daniel Radcliffe's nuanced acting can produce questions such as these.

I read the book, vaguely remember it. I do remember enjoying it, which is the opposite of how I reacted to this movie. acting was ok, story was pretty bad. Not sure if it just doesn't translate to the screen well or if the screenplay was just bad.

Points for originality, but seems to be the script of a male teenager caught between the worlds of Christian-based morality, love angst, and fantasy. Its points were not subtle, and it seemed to lack focus, at least vis-a-vis take-home messages. Good soundtrack though.

The movie ultimately misses it's mark in storytelling, feeling ut of whack with the subject matter it portrays. Radcliffe is hit or miss at times coming off as forced and wooden. However there is just enough of an interesting vibe to push it to at least a moderately entertaining film. Bonus points for the soundtrack.

Ive been really impressed with Daniel Radcliffe's movie choices because hes definitely trying something different each time. Unfortunately this one was a bit of a let down. It had all the ingredients for a decent horror/drama movie but its mainly directed at the romance between the lead couple. There are some nice ideas at times but im not sure the film makers knew what film they wanted to make. With a clear genre direction I think there is a better film to be made.

I was still skeptical about him moving on from harry potter after his woman in black movie, it was good, not great. This movie was Great. It is this kind of Bizarre concept that I watch movies for really. This movie kind of reminds me of the game Fable, for obvious reasons. Its great to see him have the cthulu ability that brings out the crazy in everyone he meets which tends to make things intense the whole movie. I liked harry potter but hes really becoming a better more sincere actor here.

I want to compare this with Besson's Lucy, because I feel like they have the same sense of fun. Both movies can also be described as "one big mess". I like how this movie has a lot of different aspects (horror, drama, comedy), and they all work surprisingly well. Radcliffe obviously has a lot of fun with his role, although I can't say he ever truly nails it. Juno Temple is really hot. I feel like that needs to be said as well. Oh yeah, the movie.. I'd say it's flawed and pretty awesome.

Yeah, so...the horns stand for guilt. This movie lays it on pretty thick sometimes, what with the devils and the angels and the hells and the heavens, but it's exceedingly well-made and well-shot and well-acted and REALLY good-looking and really moody and kinda gets under your skin and had a few awesome moments and I kinda dug it. That's all, I guess.

Speaking as a huge fan of Aja, Horns doesn't sit with his previous works as I had hoped. The humorous moments lack the bite of Piranha, momentum lacks the drive of High Tension, and the violence and horror of Hills Have Eyes are absent. Horns is Aja's most visually and technically accomplished work, but also his most conservative work. Tbh I worry he has lost his blistering, manic edge. Fucking Radcliffe was a huge casting mistake; he doesn't have the charisma, darkness or pain to pull this off.
