a film about two people convincingly disconnected from their bodies, and nearly half the runtime is frank sex scenes. it takes the BLEAK MOMENTS spiel about communication being a foreign language wherein words are "conversational gambits" and extends it to the physical as well, but unlike that film it's stubbornly romantic in how they persist through the difficulties and discomforts other movies eschew completely. 'tis funny too: FYC the conversations about garbage, and that fucking flow chart.
