Holy Ghost People

Comparable for me to 'Salvation on Sand Mountain' by Dennis Covington, a book about Christian snake handlers, this was a exceptional documentary about the subject. Aside from an introductory monologue on the culture, the entire film records a ceremony in its entirely, the music, the speaking in tongues, people going into spasms when the Holy Ghost enters them, as well as the handling of snakes. It never treated the subjects patronisingly and lets their ceremony speak louder than words.
