Entertaining, and a surprisingly good vehicle for Barbara Stanwyck. Robert Taylor makes a dashing man-about-town, but the notion that he's some brilliant scientist is totally laughable (as are the "Spanish" accents sported by the locals in the tropics).

Barbara Stanwyck teaming up with the freshest great Hollywood leading man Robert Taylor in a story filled with manipulation and humiliation. Hardly the best foundation for a stable relationship. And the romance is a bit out there. The sub-plot is Taylor finding a cure for some tropical disease in that part Stanwych becomes instrumental in him succeeding along with his professor pal Jean Hersholt. Some of this is okay, but this is far from a quality picture.
