The first talking version of the once popular moral gender play - Hindle Wakes (1931). The story of two non-married lovers and how their parents want to settle their little fling. The couple were alright, especially Belle Chrystall when having her big speech, but it was the old folks that really made this Victor Saville movie pleasurable. Can't really go wrong when you've got as respected actors as Edmund Gwenn, Norman McKinnel, Sybil Thorndike & Mary Clare arguing between them.
