High Tide

Lee Tracy's Hollywood send-off. Sure, he'd return for one movie in the 60s, but his career there was over with the High Tide (1947), and not surprisingly he's associated with a newspaper, like so many of his famous roles. And he's a natural at it, but by 1947 he was not on top of his game anymore. It's a lackluster movie, with hints of what could-have-been if at a bigger studio than Monogram Pictures or if Lee still had steam in him. Perfectly watchable, but not that memorable.
