Possibly the most popular Disney series of all time, The High School Musical franchise continued to grab the attention of movie goers with its third installment. Simply, it is hard not to enjoy watching these films. The storyline flows nicely, the songs are catchy, and the characters are likable. The "tween" fans of the first and second will remain pleased with the third. My only concern about this movie is that it will not appeal to anyone over the age of about 16.

I don't recall high school being like this. Anyway, it's genuinely wholesome entertainment for kids and young teens and it's pretty inoffensive. The music's alright. I wasn't expecting anything amazing, but the plot could have been less transparent. But it's nice to see a movie that doesn't try to grab for the parents' attention with poorly placed pop culture references, so the HSM movies may just stand the test of time.

They took it one film too far. These movies don't suit the transition into adulthood at all - should have been kept fully in the high school bubble.

In the third installment of the HSM series, the Wildcats' senior year comes to an end as they are faced with the reality of graduating, going to college, and embarking on new lives. The movie takes you to East High's basketball championship, prom, spring musical, and graduation with a bittersweet good-bye; leaving many to wish they experienced the perfect senior year shown in the movie. HSM3 is enjoyable and full of clean, catchy, sweet show tunes that are guaranteed to stick in your head.

Ya now what, fuck me! This movie was incredibly epic and enjoyable. I did care about what schools they went to and who got scholarships. There are many moments that are truly inspired. Pure Disney delight. Kelsey gets totally shafted though...she's like the most important character in the whole series, none of it would have happened without her feel-good song writing skillz. Where is her final farewell finale close-up? I love you, Wildcat.

Contrary to popular opinion, this was my favourite of the three. The higher production values help a lot, with better music and far more elaborate and visually interesting musical numbers. I'd go so far to say 6 of the top 10 musical numbers in the trilogy are in HSM3 alone. There's a lot of visual references to older musicals and teen films and HSM3 doing the twisting hallway thing 2 years before Inception actually deserves some commendation. Best musical number: "Scream"

This is the worst of the three. I think Gabriella gives off major Rory from Gilmore Girls vibes. A villain.

Similar worries as in the current MTV series, Teen Wolf: the world after the womb of High School. The story perfectly executes the requirements of a trilogy. I doubt that this franchise will be as satisfying to its audience for a very long time. Disney did successfully utilize its formula with Teen Beach Movie.

They changed up the plot, people are older than we thought, not as bad as number two, but still kind of smelly poooo.

Actually this one's not that bad. Songs are catchier, story more engaging. Did not watch the second, so I dunno how that is, but it did get better.

I don't know what's worse, the mediocre plot, the terrible characterizations, the horrific performances or the awful songs. Not that it really matters, it all makes for a bad movie.

HSM3 is now about indoctrinating a captive audience to buy hype and follow consumerist routine. It might make millions, but it's a betrayal.

"It's hard not to see the rabidly popular series's deliberate insubstantiality, its desire to address teendom in juvenile ways, as a depressing commentary on the dwindling standards of young entertainment consumers." - Nick Schager

Mistakes - 1) The character Kelsi is seen to be in two different places at once. She is DJing in one shot, but is then seen on the dance floor in the next shot. 2) In one shot, Chad is seen to be looking over the cafeteria clutching a basketball, but then in the next wide shot, he is not seen to be in that place.

It was a good ending for a trilogy but I think they over-did the acting and the singing. Although I was happy for the Piano Girl! I always liked her!

I'm just gonna come right out and say it: I loved this film. The songs and dances were great to watch and stunningly directed and the plot certainly struck a chord with me, resonating with my leaving secondary school. If your kids liked HSM 1 & 2, they'll adore number 3 - the best in the series.
