Hercules

If you have a soft spot for cheesy, melodramatic sword-and-sandal flicks based on Greek mythology (and I do), this is great fun. Also a great MST3K episode.

Not just a victim of low budget & sloppy script (the climactic "reveal" is exactly what the movie had you suspect; & why doesn't the guy reveal the Amazons plan on killing them in order to get them to leave? & when did Hercules get his powers back?) but of now common tropes it almost certainly helped popularize like the comic relief character & the big climactic battle (was this the first hero kicking ass with his chains?). It is interesting as historical curiosity & Amazons improve it slightly.

While not the worst movie to feature Hercules, it definitely isn't good. Like many I was exposed to it via MST3K.

A weird and confused chronicle of legendary events, where Herc almost gets lost somewhere in the middle there, once Jason takes the helm and Ulysses enters the fray as well.

This is the true beginning of the italian peplum. Alright, it's a bit silly - but it's great FUN! Pure cult.

I can get why Arnie thought the displays of strength were cool because that was the ONLY thing this movie has going for it. Herc is the blandest, most clean cut hero imaginable which is a far cry from the wild insanity of his Greek counterpart. Furthermore, it's also not even doing his 7 trials and mostly focuses on his time with the Argonauts culminated into boring, drawn out attempts at romance completely missing the essence and resonance that classic Greek mythological stories had.

Stupid, but in a way that makes me feel ten years old. I don't care what it is I'll just watch TV til my eyes burn out thank you.

A quite entertaining mish mash of various greek myths. While the acting and the directing is really terrible, the script's charming mythical tone, the scenery and even the special effects make up for it quite much. You will enjoy it, if you have a weak spot for sword and sorcery and mythical stories.

Cheesy and somewhat poorly made, but sadly, yes it is entertaining. Hercules beating people with chains meant to imprision him, how ironically awesome.

Questo è un realmente buono film. Lo trovo piacevole tuttavia. Yea...it's pretty fun. Kinda sad there are very few people to have seen this.
