Enjoyable early talkies melodrama, with some interesting and effective camera work and a luminous performance from Helen Twelvetrees as the bad girl with a good heart.

Pure precode with it's dirty exotic bar location where a prostitute and a sailor fall, while her murdering over-protective pimp wants to stab a knife in the his back! Nice to see a role where the serious dramatic actor Phillips Holmes actually lets loose a little as a sailor singing and fighting his way through the film! Ricardo Cortez of course have no problem looking the part as the grinning pimp. But biggest honors goes to Helen Twelvetrees as the prostitute! An genuine performance from her!
