I’m just here to warn everyone that the poster is a lie. That plot description is a lie. That Bota guy wanted to be a soft-core director but got stuck making Hellraisers. They even made the poster look like Pinhead and the Matrix were gonna ugh hghghghgggjf8,skxmfkr

Well it's jam-packed with Bota's trademark of someone hallucinating and suddenly waking up. It's really annoying. Especially after seeing his previous two Hellraiser films. It tries to become self-aware, like Scream, but ends up just feeling tacky and uninteresting, not to mention there's a good portion of plotholes. Oh yes and who can forget the fact it's basically Hellraiser: THE INTERNET. That's the only laughably bad part as the rest of the film is just... well... bad.

I'm a fan of Pinhead, but until the reboot of the franchise we can forget about anything better than something that appears to have been written by a man who has about a hundred nails hammered into his brain. This movie, rather than a diabolical hell-scape, is a horribly boring slasher.

At what point do you sever ties with a series? I would say after this one.

Another deviation from the series, this is the "New Nightmare" of Hellraiser. A group of irritating 20-something Hellraiser fans are invited to a Hellraiser themed party by Lance Henrickson and OMG derrrr guess what? Pinhead actually hacks someone's head off with a cleaver. More boobs than usual at least, and some ok kills even if they were not Hellraiser-like. But it had the dumbest ending I have ever seen in my life. Worse than 4, somehow.

If not for having Katheryn Winnick in leather pants to look at, I would score this much worse. It's obvious the filmmakers were told to modernize by making this about dopey & horny teens (why are teens from slasher movies SOO annoying?) at a rave who are also online game players. But since this is post-Scream, they're also self-aware. You have to endure Pinhead acting like a slasher (God, no) before there's a genuine twist to explain it all. It's not satisfying though & the rest is bad ideas.

Hellraiser gets the Scream treatment. The comparison is cemented by the presence of Henriksen and the victims being dispatched in a large mansion full of hidden rooms, which is vaguely reminiscent of S3. The meta references don't work because they are neither clever or interesting, nor do they advance the plot in any meaningful way. Pinhead has been reduced to delivering bad puns, and the acting is terrible. Bota's stylistic tics are also more grating than they were in Hellseeker and Deader.

Very, very obviously not meant to be a Hellraiser film. Down to its almost complete lack of Pinhead, to its weird rave/slasher plot. Nothing makes any sense. The story is convoluted but so simply bad. It's one of the worst.

Rewatch. Pretty much mediocre rather than awful, which is a huge step up for the Hellraiser series. It could almost be construed as an interesting take on how interpersonal relationships become illusory thanks to technology, or it could just also be unintentionally funny because of how dumb everyone is. Either way, better than most of the garbage.

A shitty horror movie that became a shitty Hellraiser movie because Doug Bradley had a few days to spare and needed the paycheck I guess. You've gotta love the killer's motivation in this one. "My neglected son killed himself because he was playing some online game... Hmm. Nothing left for me to do but kill all his friends a few years later in a ridiculously elaborate scheme."

What if Hellraiser was about nubiles teens going in a scary house for the night? Oh, right, it'd be as bad as a movie about nubile teens going in a scary house for the night. Also, not Hellraiser.

Really, what have they done to a perfectly serviceable horror icon? This is nothing but a cheap slasher movie dressed up as a hellraiser horror movie. Complete with 'is it/isn't it' ending and the current focus of the hellraisers on hell being 'inside your own head'. Not very convincing when you think about it. Terrible.

Hellraiser meets teen-slasher. It's not much better than the others in terms of ... anything, but it is more watch-able. Again Pinhead is a guest in his own franchise, and has little to do with the overall plot. But hey: it does feature Lance Henriksen!

Bota's last two Hellraiser movies remind me of Elkayem's two Return of the Living Dead movies. Boy they suck. 5 points for Lance Henriksen!

Easily the worst of all the Hellraisers and that's saying something. This could be a cheesy horror classic if it didn't take itself so seriously. Pinhead on the Web? Yep.

These keep getting worse. Barely a Hellraiser movie despite it being set at a Hellraiser themed party. Lance Henriksen is in it (which was inevitable in a series going this long), who provides most of its watchability. A young Henry Cavill is also amusing.

Partially enjoyable but mostly forgettable. The ending must have been one of the dumbest movie endings I've ever seen in my life but not in a good way.

Henry Cavill! With a wonky American accent! At a house party! Hosted by Lance Henriksen! Who hands out Nokia 3310s! It's a bad Hellraiser movie, and a bad movie in general, but there's something endearing about its generic, nonsensical schlockiness. Hellworld has a cheesy quality to it that other entries in the Hellraiser franchise don't, which I appreciate. The baseline competence of the flick meant that producers could focus on creating an entertaining movie, and I think they somewhat succeed.

I'm going to start referring to Lance Henriksen as 'Pheidippides' after the fucking marathon of exposition he pulled off at the end of this movie.

Despite being churned out in the same year as the last one, I was surprised that this one was actually slightly better. I mean, they're both still pretty garbage, but at least this one has a fairly coherent story. But man, any time the lead actress has to speak a line consisting of more than about 8 words, you can hear her straining to remember every word and to speak them in the right order.

Overall a bad movie. Some nice bits but the ideas are lame and over used, and the acting is quite terrible , except maybe for lance henriksen, buts since hes only in the movie for 10 minutes, it doesn't really help. Worst of the series by far.
