Hello, Love, Goodbye

*Mild spoilers* Standard issue romantic drama is overlong, and a little too busy at times, but is held together by Bernardo and Richards' likable performances and the fresh (for this viewer) cultural specificities that flavour the narrative; bonus points for not succumbing to a second teary farewell scene at the finale and even managing to be quite moving, to a modest degree.

Typical love story cinema's in Philippines are intoxicated with. Fresh in the sense that Kathryn Bernardo gets a new screen partner to play with in Alden Richards and that works out almost for the bette. The story focuses on OFW, filipinos working abroad, here Hong Kong, and the tough situation they face a they try and build a better life for themselves and their families. On a positive it doesn't get cheesy, but by the end it doesn't really generate the emotional kick that was almost built-up.
