For a long time Michael Arias was only known as a computer wiz, until he made his directorial debut in Japan with an excellent anime Tekkonkinkreet. This remake of German movie is his first try at directing live action. It is not a bad movie, just feels useless if you have seen original. It benefits a lot from soundtrack done by Plaid, but I would have hard time recommending it to anyone over the original by Thomas Jahn.
