A gripping drama along the same lines as a Flash of Genius, it's heart-felt, moving, and beautiful. A film you can take the whole family too. And a film you should enjoy whether you're religious or non-religious. NOOOOT. (Mike Myers from Wayne's World)

A talented cast and a wholesome movie. I don't think the overall message rang true for me, but still an enjoyable watch.

Giving this one point for having subject matter that I'm a bit interested in.

Not exactly my kind of topic. As the title clam, that's what the film claims. And without any convincing evidence except for a little boys imagination. Felt the script took the story in all directions it didn't need to go as far as the domestic problems went. The acting and visual aspect of this small town religious movie did carry it to acceptable levels. Greg Kinnear especially did a solid job keeping this viewable. The kid was okay, but he walked funny which irritated me for some reason.

Not a religious dude, so the issues did not concern me, but since it was a movie, I could get into the problems regardless. The biggest problem I have is that the 2 kids who saw Heaven have such a strict view of what it's supposed to look like. Take a chill pill, kids. Don't you know art is subjective? Jesus doesn't have to look like Joaquin Phoenix with Michael Bolton hair for you to be True Kvlt Christians.

I will not say it is a bad movie because at least it is innocent and it surprisingly is void of many clichés. Nonetheless it is very shallow, many scenes are very short and so are the dialogues. As I said, it is innocent, but not something I would recommend.

Very respectful of its delicate subject matter, and while still basically a family drama it's way above average for a religious production.

Heaven sounds like a nice place. "No one will ever hurt you again". If that is the one thing you can take from young Colton's jaunt into Heaven, I think that is the best one. Who cares about all the details, what you should care about is the feeling of love and the lack of pain. I thought this was a very touching movie. It had some problems that most Christian movies suffer from such as...

That's what the film offers, and it does so in a compelling and sometimes emotional way. What it doesn't offer is much that will convince those with theological concerns--John MacArthur and Hank Hanegraaff among them--about the idea of God routinely inviting people up into His presence for a visit when they're at death's door. Nor does it offer an explanation for how we can go to heaven when we actually do die. (pluggedin.com)

Heaven is for Real (B-) Surprisingly good drama for the religious crowd. Respectful of its topic and has a nice balance between humour and emotional drama, and unlike most Christian films it actually has good writing and acting. Only thing that really holds it back is the heavy-handedness of the visual storytelling. I would have preferred the film to let audiences form their own feelings on the kid's experience rather than show us cheesy heavenly sequences.

This movie was pretty good for a true story. It had emotion, great acting, actors, and directing. It's just a great gripping drama about a kid who has a near death experience. This movie is heart-felt,moving,and just beautiful. Greg Kinnear i thought wasn't bad.Great movie for religious or non-religious people.

Deep, beautiful, and thought-provoking, Heaven is for Real plays out as an exploration of the spiritual and how we'd live life differently if we knew Heaven was real.
