Heart of Stone

Mission Impossible if it were starring Gal Gadot rather than Tom Cruise (which is quite a feasible substitution), and the script was written by an AI trained on 999.999 monkeys' random typewriter hammerings. I.e. one monkey short of an actual good story. The dialogues are atrocious, and the script is as predictable as it is terrible. It could've been good if the executives had been kept out of the room. Also, Wonder Woman is not remotely believable as a mousy tech geek. Not even for 5 minutes.

As big brothers Fast X and M:I8 battle it out with elaborate stunts, ridiculous MacGuffins, affection for found family, and identical car chases in Rome, this film pokes its head out of its bedroom and tries to get their attention. But it knows that no matter how many hand-me-downs it wears, idioms it picks up, or parties it's brought along to, it will never be noticed. At this point, it's not even trying anymore.

This attempt of Netflix to start a Mission Impossible type of franchise is a waste of time. The action scenes are fine enough, tho hardly memorable. All the rest surrounding them is immensely uninspired, copying all the elements of the movies it tries to imitate, but failing in the execution. The main reason to watch this is Gal Gadot, but you’re better of rewatching Wonder Woman (or any other movie) for that.

A bit like a James Bond or a Mission Impossible movie. Not as big tho.

waist of time for those who watch real movies not this type of exaggerated action movies..

A bit overdone even for a light popcorn "my friends are all busy" evening; I say they just barely pulled off some entertainment here but it's pretty much garbage.

Gal Gadot is always amazing, and in this she is a John Wick type super agent. Of course the story is pretty unbelievable, but the action is great. If you are a Gadot fan, you will like this. As for it being a good spy thriller, I'll leave that up to you.

Fine, but unremarkable. Proof that Matthias Schweighöfer is a demonic apparition controlled by evil necromancers and has to work for whoever summons him (first Till Schweiger, now Netflix).

What was this? We subscribed Netflix just so that they could take our money and make movies like this? RIP.

Finally! I did not believe this was possible. A film that earns 100% by content alone. I’ve rated a few 10s over the years for some aspect that changed the world, even if the films falls short. Instead: this film truly offers it all. The twist ending happens 1/3 of the way in. And again. And again. And again. More WTF moments than the next 20 films combined. By the credits I still don’t know what group is the “good” one. The acting is 2nd to none. Action is all practical effects. The script

i want these films to be good. i want to see gal gadot jump of a tall exploding building etc. but they so rarely just... oh well maybe i need to rewatch haywire or something

Started pretty well and I liked the graphics of the Heart. Got generic and some of the plot jumped forwards too quickly. Some terrible lines at the end. Joker card?

Classic Euro action. Or sightseeing action as I call it. Traveling all over the continent to deliver the cool stuff. A believable plot or anything like that is not needed as long as they can go on a tour blowing up building all over Europe.

The theme is stated explicitly: what a wild girl needs is someone to train her and be there to look out for her as she makes her way through the world. And what she’d really like at the end of all that is to do the same for a girl who reminds her of her younger self. In short, a grandmother, mother and child. An early scene set for no reason in a swimming pool indicates the degree to which the filmmakers hoped to take advantage of the charms of their star. No worse than other films of this type.

I'll give this a 70 just because Gadot and Bhatt give good performances, and I always like seeing them. But really, this is a 60 or 65. It's a fine action movie with fine action and a fine story, but it doesn't hit the heights that truly great action movies do because it doesn't have the heart or the inspired action sequences.
