Hawthorne of the U.S.A. (1919) is a good showcase of why Wallace Reid was such a popular star before his untimely death in 1923. A light adventure comedy with Harrison Ford as his non-smiling sidekick in the middle of a tiny revolution in a tiny monarchy, we get enough thrills, giggles and romance in a less-than-an-hour format to satisfy. Nice popcorn'er of the non-essential kind.
