(Spoilers?) Most of the morals of this are a bit muddled, but the most important one is the lesson the therapist teaches the parents to respect kids' property rights. I wish *my* parents had learned that lesson sooner.

Top badass moment? The point when it looked like Harriet might carry out some sort of mass school shooting, then I remembered it's a Nickeloden film, so there was no way Buffy’s fake little sister was going to do that. It feels terribly dated, the nanny IS Mary Poppins, the music in the 5.1 sound mix obliterates all the dialogue and the resolution has no logical explanation at all, but it was quite watchable. About 13 cats (including a really cute, grey kitten), no chainsaws or decapitations.

Terribly unlikable little girl. Nothing like the book, which was sweet and cute. Beginning to think the problem is Trachtenberg because she went on to play this same awful character in Buffy. "But she's just a little girl! Don't blame her!" Oh yes, I will. Little girls can be evil! Pure evil, I say! I was one, after all.

Decent kids film with a good message. Not a whole lot there for the grownups.

I watched it and didn't dislike it when I was in high school. I am by far not the target audience, and the movie is by no means any good. Right now it stands as a forgettable Nickelodeon movie that might have been entertaining if you grew up in the mid-90s.

A fun, joyful adaptation that occasionally panders too much towards kids (which is, granted, its target audience), but not enough to the adults who bring them to the movies.

A pretty decent kids' movie ruined by a stupid and horribly unsatisfying ending.

I remember way too much about this movie to be comfortable. Like, I remember it pretty much beginning to end. It's not a bad kid's movie. But even as a kid I hated that stupid ending sequence. GET UP OFFA THAT THANG. Also I had a phase as a kid where me and my sister would get those black-and-white notebooks and magnifying glasses and spy on people around town and write shit. Which in retrospect, since we didn't know them, it made us more like future serial killers than anything. Like in Seven.

Your average 90s kid spectacular, only in film-form. Harriet had a lovable actress.

I loved this as a kid, so I'm a bit biased but it's definitely Nickelodeons best live-action movie not as if that says much.
