Harmony Heaven

Light musical diversion from the early sound days. Very few favorites and very little to hum. Not off-putting, but there really wasn't much to look out for.

One of the earliest UK musicals; a very modest and warbly imitator of its Hollywood inspirations. There's a color-by-numbers backstage plot, but as much time as possible is wisely devoted to the musical numbers, which for all their shortcomings, do maintain a firm focus on what the director seems to have settled on as the picture's most stable foundation: the chorus girls' legs.
