Ruby Weaver has man trouble: she tries to fix them, so she's stuck herself with a string of losers. Her current lover, Sam Deed, seems different: he's sweet, tender, just in from Dubuque. But, as Ruby tells her therapist about Sam, in flashbacks we see someone not quite of this world. In fact, Sam informs Ruby that he's from the future, 2470 to be exact, traveling back in time to avoid prosecution for his sister's death, and to find Ruby, whose photo he saw back home... (imdb)

A time travel-themed romcom? BAH! It's obviously nothing more than another shameless attempt to get guys to enjoy the crap their girlfriends nag them t-- Wait, this is actually pretty goo-- Uh... Quick, I need a testosterone-induced reason to justify my enjoyment of this movie... Er... Yeah! It stars Marisa Tomei who was hot in My Cousin Vinny and naked in the Wrestler. Boo-ya! Take that, naggy girldfriend!

Top badass moment? It’s proper hard sci-fi, up there with 2001, Solaris and Moon. Why? Because in no way could I ever enjoy a stupid, girly rom-com. A man in an Edgar suit finds the only woman on Earth who would find a guy claiming to be from the future an attractive feature. But I have to admit they did look genuinely happy together. Another quirky indie film featuring quirky people who never exist in real life. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations; or ray-guns, aliens or exploding spaceships.

Great leads and plot, but overall just okay. -- Similiar to "K-Pax" (2001).

Pretentious and sometimes quirky story about a time traveler who comes through time to save a woman he is in love with at first sight. The story points are silly and mostly nonsensical but it flows nicely and it holds together until the end. It wraps up nice and tidy leaving the time paradox unanswered but not for lack of trying to explain it. Marisa Tomei is a gem in this, with great acting. Vincent D'Onofrio is a tad bit stiff and an oddball most of the time. Overall good silly fun.

A joy because it's different. She's a bit crazy. He's from the future, or maybe more than a bit crazy. Nobody seems to have a clue, except maybe her therapist. It's a whirlwind romance in a whirlwind of nuttiness. Replace "romance" with chocolate and you've got a chocolate bar commercial. If that doesn't entice you, well I don't know what will.

Enjoyable, light, genre-straddling romance that never truly embraces the premise or takes itself seriously. As such it's a pleasant enough movie, just don't expect to get too emotionally or intellectually invested.

Movies you have to watch on airplanes are inevitably never good. This was so boring I chose to sleep instead.

Pleasing mix of drama, romance, comedy and sci-fi. Anderson claims he's never seen La Jetee, but his movie sure is a dead rip-off of it.
