Handsome Harry

The best showcase I've seen for Sheridan's considerable skills. He's way more interesting to watch than most of the other dinos still lumbering about. And actually this is a pretty compelling collection of dinos. Only Savage strains himself. Film is a little cute at times (antiwar prof socks him one in class) but goes to some interesting and unusual places, and even rarer, doesn't diminish the difficulty of guilt and forgiveness. There are some amazing scenes here (and a few forgivable ones)

Director Bette Gordon presents the actors' sensitivity with tactful insight and appreciation reminiscent of Katherine Dieckmann's very fine Diggers.
