I had seen this ages ago on a murky VHS, and it didn't make an impression. After watching the Koch blu-ray, I appreciated it more and the rocky terrain looked quite nice. Stylistically, this early paella western is close to American B-westerns, but it's very bleak. No one ends up happy in this tale of revenge. It's like a 60's paella version of Unforgiven. Hill is not yet very charismatic in this and his acting is at times lacking, but as a whole, I liked this more than I thought I would.
