Bizarre but intriguing black comedy, which provides some interest for fans of Burton, Taylor and writer-director Ustinov, with Burton arguably faring best overall of the three. Tonal inconsistencies (and a meandering screenplay) don't really help matters, and Bridges overplays his hayseed role to the nth degree.
