Due to a complex series of events a Guards Officer in a small European country is imprisoned. He manages to escape in the company of an idiotic milliner and they briefly take shelter with some gypsies, where the Captain falls in love with a young woman. Having been discovered by an American promoter while performing with gypsy orchestra in a tavern, the three accompany him to London as the latest new musical sensation.

First time I see anything of jack of all trades Alfred Rode. He had starred in the French version Juanita (1935) and somehow managed to get it remade in Britain and importing Lupe Velez as his leading lady. By the looks of things they probable reused a lot of the shot made for the original which created a odd flow. But not as odd as the combination of the alluring musical mood and slapstick which the rest of the film consisted of. Mild delight, which feels as random as it probable was.
