Guns in the Dark

One of the better poverty row westerns I've seen.The film has a decent plot and a nice twist to the story with the hero refusing to use a gun. Reasonably well acted with a welcome lack of jokes, songs, humor. The ending shows a "Three Stooges" like food fight scene which dropped the rating a bit.

Johnny Mack Brown is fooled into thinking he's killed his own friend and stops using guns because of it. From that time on it's strictly fights with fists and kitchen utilities! Stutterin' Syd Saylor is a nice additional character. And while the storyline and action is of very standard poverty row kind, it manages to become decent enough. Especially for a Mack western.
